Downtime Is Priced in Tonnes, Not in Parts
A mill standing still does not save the cost of the part it is waiting for. On a line producing 8 t/h, a two-day wait for a €60 impeder costs sixteen shifts of output. That arithmetic is why we keep the fast-wearing parts on the shelf and why the ordering process is built around identifying the part quickly rather than filling in a form.
Identifying a Part Without a Part Number
Most orders arrive as a photograph and a machine model, and that is enough for the consumables. What helps most:
- A photograph taken square-on, with a ruler or a coin in frame for scale.
- The machine model and the tube size the line was running.
- For an impeder: overall length, the ferrite dimensions and the cooling connection type.
- For a scarfing knife: the holder type, and whether the tool is for the inside or outside bead.
- For a saw blade: diameter, bore, tooth count and the material being cut.
- For a roll: stand number, bore, width and a profile measurement at the contact line.
Where the part is not a consumable, send the drawing number from the manual. If there is no manual, we will work from the drawing archive for that machine — and if the archive is incomplete because the machine predates us, we will say so before you order.
On the Shelf, or Made to Order
| Part | Usually | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Impeder / ferrite core | Stock | Cheap, fails without warning, stops the line |
| Scarfing knives | Stock | Wear part, replaced on a schedule |
| Saw blades | Stock in common sizes | Breakage is sudden |
| HF boards and contact tips | Partly stock | Board type varies with the welder generation |
| Rolls and shafts | Made to order | Cut to your pass and your tube size |
| Guide rolls, clamp pads | Made to order | Geometry differs per line |
The distinction matters for planning: a stock item is a courier question, a made-to-order item is a production slot. If a line cannot tolerate a two-week wait for a guide roll, that part belongs in your own store, and we will say which parts those are when the machine is handed over.
Retrofit Kits Worth Considering
- Friction saw to flying cold saw — the change most plants make first, because it removes a deburring operation.
- Manual to automatic stacker — pays back on labour in export-oriented plants.
- Impeder cooling upgrade — extends ferrite life and stabilises the weld on heavy wall.
- Scarfing tool upgrade — reduces knife consumption and improves the inside surface.
Each of these is quoted as a kit with the interface drawings, so it can be installed during a scheduled stop rather than an unplanned one.

Spare parts are where a tube mill actually loses money: the mill is fine, but a €40 impeder or a worn scarfing knife has it standing still. We keep the consumables that wear fastest on the shelf and ship them against a photo and a machine model, so a stopped line becomes a courier question rather than a production-planning one.
Spare Parts & Consumables
Impeder / Ferrite Cores
The impeder sits inside the tube at the weld point and concentrates the HF current. We supply cores and complete impeders matched to your tube diameter, with the ferrite grade and cooling arrangement chosen for your line speed — a weak or oversized impeder shows up immediately as weld speed loss and edge burning.
ID Scarfing Knives
Inside scarfing knives for removing the internal weld bead, in the carbide grades and geometries used for round, square and rectangular tube. Tell us the wall thickness and tube size and we will match the knife to the scarfing head you run.
Saw Blades
HSS and TCT blades for flying cold saws, sized to your cut-off model and tube wall. Correct tooth pitch and blade tension are what keep a cold cut burr-free at full line speed, so we ask for the model before we quote the blade.
HF Boards & Cables
Replacement HF welding boards, cables and connections for solid-state welders. Send a photo of the board and its markings if the label is gone — that is usually enough to identify the right replacement.
Rolls, Shafts & Guide Rolls
Replacement forming and sizing rolls, roll shafts, guide rolls and straightening rolls, machined to the same drawings as the originals. Complete new roll sets are covered on the roll tooling page.
Other Parts
Scarfing tool systems, quick-change cassettes, weld boxes, cooling nozzles and the small hardware that stops a shift — if you can photograph it on the machine, we can usually identify it.
Not sure of the part number? Send a photo with the machine model and the tube size; that is how most of these orders start.
