What the HG16 tube mill is built for
Precision small diameter line. Runs thin strip at 120 m/min; the fastest and lightest line we build. The HG16 covers Ø8 – Ø25 tube at 0.25 – 1.0 wall, running at 30 – 120. It sits in the HG16 & HG25 band of our range — The two smallest mills we build. Thin wall, small diameter, high speed — the machines that make the tube used in furniture, bicycle frames, display racks and small hydraulic lines.

Where the output goes
This size is normally bought for a specific end market rather than for a general product range. Typical uses: Furniture tube, bicycle frame tube, display and shelf tube, small hydraulic and instrumentation lines.
The mill is supplied as a complete line, and you tell us the product mix you intend to run. That decides the number of forming stands, the HF power rating, the sizing pass layout and whether the cut-off is a hot saw, a cold flying saw or both. Guessing here is what makes an expensive line underperform, so we quote against your actual tube specification rather than against a catalogue.
How the line is configured
- Entry — decoiler, hold-down and straightening, sized to your coil weight and diameter.
- Coil joining — hydraulic shearing and butt welding, so the strip reaches the mill continuously.
- Accumulator — the buffer that lets the mill run while the welder changes a coil.
- Forming and welding — the HG16 forming section, HF welder sized for 0.25 wall, and the cooling box.
- Sizing and straightening — sizing stands and Turkish head rolls that hold the finished OD.
- Cut-off and handling — flying saw cut-off, run-out table, and optional automatic stacking and strapping.

Questions buyers ask about the HG16
What tube sizes can the HG16 produce?
The HG16 covers Ø8 – Ø25 round tube at 0.25 – 1.0 wall. Square and rectangular hollow section from the sizes listed above can be produced on the same line. The exact size range you can hold to tolerance depends on the material grade and the strip width you run.
How fast does the line run?
Rated at 30 – 120. Actual output depends on wall thickness, grade and diameter; the heaviest wall in the range runs at the lower end of that figure.
What strip do I need to run this mill?
The mill takes cold rolled or galvanised strip. Send us your grade, thickness and width and we will confirm the roll pass design and the strip width calculation for your product.
Can this mill be configured for square tube?
Yes. The forming section is widened for square and rectangular section, and the sizing and Turkish head layout is redesigned for the corners. That is a build decision taken at quotation, not an option added later.
Do you supply the whole line or only the mill?
We supply the complete line — entry, coil joining, accumulator, forming and welding, sizing, cut-off and handling — and we quote it station by station so you can see where the money goes.
How long does delivery and installation take?
Delivery, commissioning and operator training are scheduled with the order. Tell us your target start date and we will say honestly whether the line can be there.
