What the MR165 Twin Blade flying saw does
Twin blade coordinate type. Two smaller blades share the work, so a Ø400 blade can cut a Ø168 tube that would otherwise need a 700 mm blade. The XY axes let the operator change size without changing the tooling.
The MR165 Twin Blade sits in the twin blade profile milling flying saw category. Two blades on a rotating or coordinate axis cut in two passes. A small diameter blade cuts a large tube, which is how large diameter heavy wall stays economical to cut.

What comes with the machine
- Saw carriage — servo driven traverse, sized for the cut length you quote.
- Clamping — pneumatic for the small sizes, hydraulic for the heavy wall machines.
- Saw head — HSS / TCT Ø400, with the blade tensioner and the cooling arrangement.
- Control — servo drive and a controller that holds the cut length within tolerance across the full speed range.
- Guard and extraction — enclosed cutting with chip extraction.
Where it is normally installed
Flying saws sit on the exit side of the sizing stand, where the tube has already reached its final dimension and is moving at line speed. That position is what makes the cut square and the length accurate: the saw tracks the moving tube rather than stopping it. We will confirm the station layout with your mill arrangement, including the run-out table and where the cut tube goes afterwards.

Questions buyers ask about the MR165 Twin Blade
What tube sizes does the MR165 Twin Blade cut?
The MR165 Twin Blade cuts round tube from Ø76 – Ø168, square section up to 60 – 130 mm and wall from 1.5 to 7.0 mm. Larger sizes and heavier walls move up to the next model in the range.
How fast does it cut?
Line speed 60 m/min, and the cut length runs from 2,000 – 12,000 mm. Actual length accuracy depends on the encoder, the clamp and the carriage speed being matched to your line speed.
Which saw blade should I use?
HSS / TCT Ø400. HSS is the economical choice for thin wall and general carbon steel; TCT lasts longer and holds an edge better on harder material and thicker wall.
What does the saw motor size mean?
The saw motor is the one doing the cutting. 15 kW × 2 on this machine, with the carriage on 30 kW servo and feed on 7.5 kW × 2 per axis. The three are matched as a set; you cannot upgrade one of them on its own.
Can this saw be added to an existing mill?
Yes. Send us the mill model, the tube OD range and the line speed, and we will confirm the foundation, the power supply and the control interface before you commit.
Is this model available with a twin blade arrangement?
The twin blade coordinate type exists for the same size range and is worth considering if your wall is at the heavy end of the specification. We will tell you honestly which one is the better economic choice for your duty.
