A used roll taken back, reground, rehoused and put back into service. Usually the cheapest way to get a mill running again.
Why it matters on the line
- Your roll, taken back and reground to the profile height you specify
- Checked for cracks and wear before it is put back on the stand
- Often faster than a new roll, because your roll is already on site and the lead time is the regrind, not the steel
- We tell you honestly when a roll has reached the end of its life and regrinding is no longer worth it
What we supply
| Item | What we hold to | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Profile height | Reground to your specified height | The roll is consumed by every regrind |
| Inspection | Checked for cracks and wear | A cracked roll is not reground |
| Shaft and bearing | Replaced if worn | Often the shaft is what actually stops the roll |
| Turnaround | Quoted per roll, agreed before the work starts | No surprise costs on return |
Every item is machined in our own workshop and marked before it is packed, so it goes back to the stand it came from. If you send us a drawing or a sample we work to that; if you are not sure what you need, send us the mill model and the pass line and we will tell you.

Send us the drawing or the sample
A drawing, a photo with a ruler in frame, or the mill model is enough for us to quote and to tell you honestly whether the item should be reground or replaced.
