The strip width that produces your tube size at your wall thickness. It is one calculation, but getting it wrong means every roll on the line is wrong.
Why it matters on the line
- The strip width that produces your tube size at your wall thickness
- Small errors in the width calculation show up as ovality and wall variation, not as an obvious fault
- Done from your strip grade and your tube specification, with the tolerance stated
- Delivered with the pass line so the rolls and the calculation agree
What we supply
| Item | What we hold to | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Inputs | Tube OD, wall thickness, strip grade | The three numbers the calculation needs |
| Output | Strip width with stated tolerance | Every roll is cut to this |
| Tolerance | Agreed with you before machining | A width tolerance on the strip becomes an ovality on the tube |
| Delivery | With the pass line drawing | The calculation and the rolls travel together |
Every item is machined in our own workshop and marked before it is packed, so it goes back to the stand it came from. If you send us a drawing or a sample we work to that; if you are not sure what you need, send us the mill model and the pass line and we will tell you.

Send us the drawing or the sample
A drawing, a photo with a ruler in frame, or the mill model is enough for us to quote and to tell you honestly whether the item should be reground or replaced.
