What the MR114T flying saw does
Large diameter, thin wall, high speed: the combination the belt drive was made for. At Ø114 the tube is big but the wall is still under 5 mm, so the cut is easy and the cycle time is what limits the line.
A 30 kW saw motor gives the MR114T the blade torque of a much larger machine, while the belt carriage keeps the traverse at 120 m/min. This is the model we quote for API line pipe in the smaller sizes, for piling casing and for large structural hollow sections where the mill is fast but the wall is moderate.
Technical specifications
| Model | Round tube OD | Square section | Wall thickness | Line speed | Cut length | Saw blade | Carriage motor | Saw motor | Feed motor |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MR114T | Ø50 – Ø114 | 40 – 90 | 1.2 – 5.0 | 120 | 2,000 – 12,000 | HSS / TCT | 15 kW servo | 30 kW | 4.4 kW servo |
What comes with the machine
- Belt-driven carriage — toothed belt on a hardened rail, tensioned at the factory and checked on site.
- Clamping — pneumatic on the small sizes, hydraulic from Ø76 upwards.
- Saw head — HSS / TCT, with blade tensioner and coolant arrangement.
- Control — servo drive and a controller that holds cut length across the full speed range.
- Guard and extraction — enclosed cutting with chip extraction.
Where it is normally installed
The saw sits on the exit side of the sizing stand, where the tube has reached its final dimension and is still moving at line speed. That position is what makes the cut square and the length accurate: the carriage tracks the moving tube instead of stopping it. We confirm the station layout against your mill arrangement, including the run-out table and where the cut tube goes next.

Questions buyers ask about the MR114T
Why does it need a 30 kW saw motor?
Blade diameter. A Ø114 cut needs a large blade, and a large blade needs torque to keep its surface speed through the wall. The belt drive handles the traverse; the motor handles the cut.
What is the wall limit?
5.0 mm. Above that the rack-driven MR114 is the better match, because the extra torque matters more than the line speed.
Is the clamp pneumatic or hydraulic?
Hydraulic at this size. The clamp force needed for Ø114 tube cannot be held reliably by a pneumatic cylinder through a full shift.
