MR219M Milling Type Flying Cut-Off — Ø89 – Ø219 mm, 2.0 – 12.0 mm Wall, Twin Blade

What the MR219M milling cut-off does

The twin-blade answer for the Ø219 band. Where the single-blade MR219 stops at 8 mm wall, this machine keeps going to 12 mm, because two small blades sharing the cut is a different equation from one large blade taking it all.

Two blades cut in a coordinated path, so the cutting force is shared and the load per tooth stays reasonable even at 12 mm wall. The machine was originally delivered as a coordinate twin-blade unit for API line pipe, and that is still its home ground: heavy-wall tube in the Ø89 to Ø219 band, where a single-blade saw would need an uneconomical blade diameter.

What comes with the machine

  • Twin-blade milling head — two blades share the cut, so heavy wall stays economical and the face comes off square.
  • Profile following — the head traces the tube section, round or square, instead of cutting straight across it.
  • Saw blades — HSS / TCT blade pair, sized to the diameter range rather than to one enormous disc.
  • Control — servo feed on each axis, coordinated by the profile controller.
  • Guard and extraction — enclosed cutting with chip extraction.

Where it is normally installed

Like every flying cut-off, the machine sits on the exit side of the sizing stand and travels with the tube. The difference is the cutting path: the head mills around the section, which takes a little longer per cut and buys the ability to cut diameters and walls no single-blade saw can touch economically.

Questions buyers ask about the MR219M

[(‘What does the M after MR219M mean?’, ‘Milling type. The M marks the twin-blade profile milling range, the same way T marks the timing belt saws. MR219 (single blade, 8 mm wall) and MR219M (twin blade, 12 mm wall) are two machines.’), (‘Why can the twin blade cut 4 mm more wall?’, ‘Two blades share the cutting force, so the load per tooth drops. The limit is chip load, not motor size, and sharing the cut moves that limit.’), (‘Is the MR219M slower than the MR219?’, ‘Not necessarily. Both run around 40 m/min at the heavy end; the twin blade trades complexity for wall capacity, not speed.’)]
