What tube sizes does the MR508 cut?

The MR508 cuts round tube from Ø165 – Ø508, square section up to 150 – 400 mm and wall from 3.0 to 16.0 mm. Larger sizes and heavier walls move up to the next model in the range.

How fast does it cut?

Line speed 30 m/min, and the cut length runs from 4,000 – 12,000 mm. Actual length accuracy depends on the encoder, the clamp and the carriage speed being matched to your line speed.

Which saw blade should I use?

HSS / TCT. HSS is the economical choice for thin wall and general carbon steel; TCT lasts longer and holds an edge better on harder material and thicker wall.

What does the saw motor size mean?

The saw motor is the one doing the cutting. 22 kW × 2 on this machine, with the carriage on 45 kW servo and feed on 4.4 kW × 2. The three are matched as a set; you cannot upgrade one of them on its own.

What the MR508M milling cut-off does

The largest cold saw we build. 16 mm wall in Ø508 pipe, cut with two blades on a rotating table so the load is shared and the face comes off square.

This is the machine for the top of the structural and transmission range: Ø508 pipe, 400 × 400 square section, 16 mm wall. Two 22 kW cutting motors share the work on a rotating table, and the gantry follows the tube at 30 m/min. There is no single-blade alternative at this duty — this is the range where profile milling is not one option among several, it is the only sensible one.

What comes with the machine

Where it is normally installed

Like every flying cut-off, the machine sits on the exit side of the sizing stand and travels with the tube. The difference is the cutting path: the head mills around the section, which takes a little longer per cut and buys the ability to cut diameters and walls no single-blade saw can touch economically.
