What the MR25 flying cold saw does
The smallest saw in the rack range, and the cheapest way to put a flying cut-off on a small line. It keeps the same frame family as the belt-driven MR25T but trades 40 m/min of line speed for a simpler drive and a lower price.
A gear rack carries the carriage, so the cutting torque goes through a steel tooth instead of a belt. On thin-wall decorative and furniture tube the cut is easy and the rack shows its real advantage somewhere else: maintenance. There is no belt to tension or replace, and length accuracy does not drift as the machine ages. For lines that run 60 to 90 m/min, the speed the belt version gives up is speed the mill never had anyway.
Technical specifications
| Model | Round tube OD | Square section | Rectangular section | Wall thickness | Line speed | Cut length | Clamping | Saw blade | Saw motor |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MR25 | Ø7.6 – Ø25 | 6 – 20 | 15×25 | 0.5 – 1.5 | 120 m/min | 2,000 – 12,000 | Pneumatic (-P) or hydraulic (-H) | HSS / TCT Ø350 | 5.5 kW |
What comes with the machine
- Rack-driven carriage — hardened gear rack and steel pinion, the cutting torque goes through the tooth, not through friction.
- Clamping — pneumatic (-P) or hydraulic (-H), built into the model you order.
- Saw head — HSS / TCT Ø350, with blade tensioner and coolant arrangement.
- Control — servo feed and a controller that holds cut length across the full speed range.
- Guard and extraction — enclosed cutting with chip extraction.
How the -P / -H clamp choice works
Every model in this range is ordered with the clamp written into the model number: -P for the pneumatic clamp (fast, light, thin and medium wall) or -H for the hydraulic clamp (high force, steady holding, heavy wall and large diameter). At the smaller sizes -P is the normal quotation; from around 3 mm wall and upwards the hydraulic clamp becomes the configuration we recommend, and on the largest models it is the only one we supply.
Where it is normally installed
The saw sits on the exit side of the sizing stand and tracks the moving tube, so the cut stays square and the length stays accurate without stopping the line. We confirm the station layout against your mill arrangement, including the run-out table and the tube handling after the cut.
