MR60 Flying Cold Saw — Ø25 – Ø76 mm, 1.0 – 3.5 mm Wall, up to 120 m/min

What the MR60 flying cold saw does

The last rack saw that still runs 120 m/min, and the natural partner for lines that make prop-wall and scaffolding-adjacent sizes around Ø76.

From Ø60 upwards the blade grows to Ø450 and the carriage servo steps to 15 kW, because the chip load per tooth rises quickly in this band. The rack still carries the torque, and the clamp grips the tube square to the blade so the burr stays on one side, where the facing tool can take it off. Where a customer asks for more speed at this diameter, we quote the MR60T instead and explain the trade-off honestly.

What comes with the machine

  • Rack-driven carriage — hardened gear rack and steel pinion, the cutting torque goes through the tooth, not through friction.
  • Clamping — pneumatic (-P) or hydraulic (-H), built into the model you order.
  • Saw head — HSS / TCT Ø450, with blade tensioner and coolant arrangement.
  • Control — servo feed and a controller that holds cut length across the full speed range.
  • Guard and extraction — enclosed cutting with chip extraction.

How the -P / -H clamp choice works

Every model in this range is ordered with the clamp written into the model number: -P for the pneumatic clamp (fast, light, thin and medium wall) or -H for the hydraulic clamp (high force, steady holding, heavy wall and large diameter). At the smaller sizes -P is the normal quotation; from around 3 mm wall and upwards the hydraulic clamp becomes the configuration we recommend, and on the largest models it is the only one we supply.

Where it is normally installed

The saw sits on the exit side of the sizing stand and tracks the moving tube, so the cut stays square and the length stays accurate without stopping the line. We confirm the station layout against your mill arrangement, including the run-out table and the tube handling after the cut.

Questions buyers ask about the MR60

[(‘What wall can the MR60 cut at Ø76?’, ‘Up to 3.5 mm at 120 m/min. Above that, either the speed comes down or the machine size goes up to the MR76.’), (‘MR60 or MR60T — how do I decide?’, ‘If the mill runs 120 m/min or less, the rack version does the same job for less money. The T version only earns its premium when you actually run above 120.’), (‘Is the clamp hydraulic on this size?’, ‘It is optional: MR60-P for thin-wall work, MR60-H when the product mix sits at the top of the wall range or includes structural sizes.’)]
